Lighthouse Christian Academy is growing! We are seeking enthusiastic and mature Christian teachers for the 2026-27 school year. We teach the Alberta Program of Studies from a Christian worldview and provide additional Christian programming for students through devotions, Bible class and chapels.
We have three positions available.
- FULL-TIME GRADE 2 TEACHER. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of students in grade 2 across all subjects with varied academic abilities. There will be an educational assistant in the classroom that will work with the teacher.
- FULL-TIME HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER. We have a small high school population at present. This teacher would need to have a willingness and ability to teach different courses as part of a high school team.
- PART-TIME (0.5) GRADE 4/5 MATH & LA TEACHER. This is a new position as we prepare to transition our 4/5 class into separate grades. You would work with the current 4/5 teacher in teaching math and language arts to a group of 4/5 students in your own classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- valid Alberta teaching certificate
- current CPR/First Aid and CRC preferred
- Experience working with students in an organized setting preferred
- Experience working with ASD students is also an asset
Working well as a team member, having patience, flexibility and love for children, plus enjoying a mature relationship with Jesus are requirements for the successful candidate.
